Jakarta, exclusive breastfeeding continue to be encouraged because it can improve health and reduce infant mortality. But it turned out to give exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months, people could save 30,000 babies.
ASI actually been formed since the age of 16-22 weeks of gestation during pregnancy and lactation gave birth to its own hormones will increase.
At 1-3 days after birth the amount of milk will tend to increase and are increasingly being sucked by the baby's milk, the production will be more and more.

In essence there is no reason for women to not give milk to her baby, because all the substances needed by the infant at birth has been found in breast milk.
WHO and UNICEF have recommended her to give only breast milk for 6 months after birth. After that just started given complementary feeding (MP-ASI) while continuing to breastfeed their infants until the age of 2 years.
As quoted from AIMI East Java, there are some guidelines on breastfeeding, namely:
1. On the first day until the baby's stomach is only the second size of a marble, then on the third day until the sixth increased the size of fruit size kelengkeng, and started the day seventh to the sixth month of ping-pong ball.
2. On the first day until the required amount of milk as much as 10-100 m, the third to the fourth day of 200 ml, the fifth day until the eighth as much as 400-600 ml and the second week until the sixth month as much as 600-800 ml.
3. The first month of the baby usually will feed as many as 8-12 times in a day or every 1.5 to 3 hours, and the second to the sixth month of as much as 6-8 times a day.
In addition, every baby has different needs breast milk, therefore there are some signs that indicate that breast milk is given is sufficient for babies, namely:
1. Babies suckle strongly, slowly and steadily.
2. Seeing the baby can swallow regularly.
3. Active baby moving and can cry with great force.
4. Baby's mouth or lips will look moist.

Because it could not hurt to continue to give infants exclusively breastfed for 6 months and continue until the infant was 2 years old. This will help reduce infant mortality and also improve the health of babies in the future.
